Manu Ginobili is 37 years old and is on the last year of his contract with the San Antonio Spurs. With multiple championships under his belt and a chance at one more this season, it's likely that this year may be his last in the NBA.
Ginobili, who has spent 13 years in the league, talked about how playing basketball all these years has taken a toll on his body.
“I do not feel well,” Ginobili told Dan McCarney of the San Antonio Express-News. “Every day, every game, I have to do a lot of things to get to the stadium. Everything hurts."
It's been predicted since last season that Ginobili would likely call it a career after this season. He still has some left in him, but he's definitely not the player he used to be.
The question now is if guys like Tim Duncan — and may be even Gregg Popovich — follow suit with Ginobili after this year. Ginobili's contract expires on June 30th.
