The Washington Wizards fell in a heartbreaking, season-ending loss to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 on Friday. Center Marcin Gortat playing only four minutes was a huge factor.
Gortat started, but only 4:10 and was gone after that.
According to Pro Basketball Talk, he was suffering from food poisoning.
“March was sick all night last night, throwing up all day today, IVs last night, IVs all day today, he tried to do what he could do but he didn’t have any energy,” coach Randy Wittman said. “I appreciate him giving me the effort and trying.”
Kevin Seraphin filled in for Gortat. He did a pretty good job on the boards, as well as adding 13 points.
