This has been quite an interesting offseason for Peyton Manning.
Manning first dealt with the fiasco on whether he would retire or not. Then came the talk of his quad injury. Then, of course, was whether he would stay with the Broncos or not.
Manning eventually agreed to take a pay cut with Denver. Now fast forward a few months later, and we get a report of the Broncos trying to trade him to the Houston Texans.
The report was later proven false, but another crazy story came out. Denver, of course, always wanted to keep No. 18. However, according to Pro Football Talk, they initially pitched on giving him a $10 million pay cut.
According to longtime beat writer Mike Klis of 9 News in Denver, the Broncos “were never letting Peyton Manning go.”
They did, however, ask him to take a $10 million pay cut, a huge gap from the $4 million they eventually arm-twisted out of him.
Welp.
