Anthony Davis has just became the highest paid player in basketball after agreeing to a five-year, $145 million extension with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Davis play earn nearly $30 million a season from ages 24-29.

The extension will begin at the 2016-17 season after the final year of his rookie contract comes to an end next year, where he will earn $7 million.
Davis is able to opt out in the summer of 2020.

Davis can also earn 25-30 percent of the Pelicans' total salary cap figure if he achieves one of the following: voted by the fans as a starter to his second All-Star team, win MVP or make his second All-NBA team. It's likely he can get all three.
Davis, who will be entering his fourth NBA season, is already planning to expand his game even more, as suggested by head coach Alvin Gentry.
