James Harden Russell Westbrook 2015

This would be pretty insane if it ended up happening, but this won't be talked about until a few years from now. Right now, people are more worried on if Kevin Durant will go to the Washington Wizards or not in 2016.

According to ESPN, one executive believes that former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates James Harden and Russell Westbrook will team up on the Los Angeles Lakers when both become free agents:

“They don’t have the same pull, but they do have the city, weather and off-the-court appeal,” one executive said. “Also, Kobe is only there for a short time, then you can be the face of the team.”

Said another executive: “The Lakers will always be a huge draw. They will be fine regardless. While losing Howard was not planned, they will still be in on anyone.”

And said another executive: “They just need one big guy to go there, and the rest will follow. I expect [Russell] Westbrook and [James] Harden to join forces there when they become free. It definitely still has allure. It’s still L.A., and they are still the Lakers. No free agent can question whether or not they will spend the money to win titles.”

It would be even crazier if Kevin Durant somehow got into mix, but I don't know how they could arrange such a thing because of the cap space (unless they pulled what the Miami Heat did in 2010).

However, this is a long time from now since Westbrook won't be a free agent until 2017, Harden 2018. I see it is as very unlikely, though.

However, I do believe in the Westbrook-to-the-Lakers rumor. It makes total sense. But that's for another story. Harden and Russ on the Lakers, though?

Nah.
