Sacramneto Kings VP of basketball operations Vlade Divac has said before that he has no plans to trade star center DeMarcus Cousins. He is sticking to that notion, despite reports that head coach George Karl wants him gone.

Divac spoke to reporters today about that rumor, saying that both Karl and Cousins are staying. He adds that Karl doesn't want the All-Star big man traded.

Sactown Royalty added this interesting tidbit about the whole situation:

To be fair, Vlade doesn't need to rush into anything.  As James Ham wrote in his piece today on Sacramento's dysfunction, the draft is a false deadline, manufactured by the sense of urgency created by the various leaks intimating Cousins desire to leave Sacramento and Karl's desire to make that happen.  Cousins is under contract for three more seasons, and it's quite possible that the team is able to successfully repair the relationship between him and Karl in that time.  Winning after all, is the best medicine.

I would like to see someone actually get Karl on the record, since he's been at the forefront of the latest rumors, because we know Vlade's position hasn't changed and doesn't appear to be changing.  But right now the Kings appear weak, there's blood in the water, and 29 other GMs are hungrily circling the Sacramento Kings franchise.  These rumors aren't likely to die down anytime soon.
