Brandon Greer has been dismissed from Central Michigan’s football team after he was arrested on charges of assault and attempted kidnapping last week.
According to Bleacher Report, Greer was arrested Wednesday evening after a woman alleged that Greer tried to pull her into his car.
According to the woman, who documented the incident on Facebook, Greer tried to use the excuse, "I have a question ruse while she was walking her dog."
“I was almost abducted,” the women said on Facebook. “I fought the guy off and ran with our dog to the apartment. I am safe, but another child or adult may not be so lucky.”
Greer reportedly watched the woman over a certain period of time, parking his car in various spots.
Central Michigan’s athletic director Dave Heeke released a statement Friday announcing Greer’s dismissal from the athletic department.
“After a thorough review of the situation, we have dismissed Brandon Greer from the football team and our athletic program,” he said. “We take all criminal misconduct very seriously and felt this case warranted immediate dismissal from our program.”
Greer is being held without bond and was set to enter his senior year.
