The deadline for NFL teams to sign franchised players to long-term contracts was 4:00 p.m. E.T. on Wednesday.
If a long-term deal had not been reached, Bryant would have had to play the 2015 season under the franchise tag, earning $12.8 million. Now he’ll average more than that per season.
