From Foley, where he starred at Foley High School, Stabler played for three seasons (1965-67) under legendary Alabama coach Paul W. “Bear” Bryant before becoming a second-round selection in the 1968 NFL Draft by Oakland.
Stabler led the Raiders to the 1977 Super Bowl title, and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection.
