ESPN’s Michael Eaves is breaking down the DeAndre Jordan Clippers-Mavericks fiasco, and he says that Jordan’s family actually started this process when they started reaching out to family members of his Los Angeles teammates.
Jordan’s family wants DeAndre to stay in LA.
"Members of DJ’s family also reached out to family members of other players over the weekend. DJ’s family wanted him to stay in LA," Eaves writes on Twitter.
"#Clippers will be applying the full-court press as Doc, Ballmer, CP3, Blake, JJ and Paul Pierce are all in Houston to close the deal by 11pm.
"Another source tells me that since DJ had agreed to sign with #Mavs, he hadn’t heard anything from the team before he called Doc on Monday."
Jordan is meeting with the Clippers as we speak.
