Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee adds, "That from league sources familiar with the Kings' plans. No deal imminent but Kings would love to add Josh Smith.
"With players able to sign contracts the Kings have a 'very strong' interest in free agent forward Josh Smith."
The power forward, who previously played with new King Rajon Rondo at Oak Hill Academy, had his worst season since his second season last year, posting 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per-game averages.
