The Minnesota Vikings have the look of a promising young franchise, but they just aren’t ready for the big stage at this time.
Minnesota resembled nothing that made them a trendy pick to make the playoffs in 2015 as they slept-walk their way to a 20-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers Monday night.
The Vikes were gashed by Carlos Hyde and embarrassed, leaving head coach Mike Zimmer to question if they were ready for primetime.
“You know, maybe we’re just not ready for prime time yet,” Zimmer said following the loss, via the Minnesota Star Tribune.
“I don’t know if it was all the offensive line. Some of it was Teddy. Probably a lot of it was Teddy tonight. Teddy did not play well.”
Adrian Peterson carried the ball just 10 times for 31 yards and didn’t looked comfortable running from the shotgun.
