Donovan McNabb spent over a decade here in Philadelphia, and he wasn’t welcomed warmly when he first arrived. Does that make the Eagles great an expert on coaching futility?
Speaking to Syracuse.com during a trade show, the former Eagles great believes Kelly could be ran out of town, or even fired if he doesn’t start winning soon. Not that Kelly has done that much losing.
“Well, he better win soon,” McNabb said. “You talk about the tenure I had, over a decade of winning successfully, making it to the playoffs. First round meant nothing to us. It was second round, NFC Championship or Super Bowl.
“We’ve had a top-five offense, but he hasn’t had any playoff wins to show for it. We can talk about how smart you are and the numbers you’re putting up, but Philadelphia is used to winning. If you’re not winning, it’s going to be next man up.”
McNabb went on to say that he’ll vote for himself to enter both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fames.
