Johnny Manziel is set to be the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback, and he’ll likely be meeting with the NFL suits as well.
The league has reportedly scheduled an interview with the Cleveland Browns quarterback regarding a recent domestic incident with his girlfriend Colleen Crowley, according to the Northeast Ohio Media Group’s Mary Kay Cabot.
“Obviously it’s a situation that’s ongoing with the league,” Manziel said following the Browns’ loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, though he didn’t reveal he had an upcoming meeting with the league.
“When the (NFL investigators) do come, if anything like that happens, I’ll fully cooperate with them and give them exactly what happened that day for my side of the story. (But) I feel like we let an opportunity slip away, so that’s really what I want to focus on.”
The NFL is still investigating the issue, and could choose to discipline Manziel should they decide he violated the league’s personal conduct policy. Colleen Crowley, Manziel’s girlfriend, initially told police the quarterback “struck her” a couple of times.
