The family of Lamar Odom says the embattled small forward’s speech is improving since he’s started therapy in Los Angeles, according to the Associated Press. The publicist for Odom’s aunt JaNean Mercer said in a statement that Odom’s therapy has been “aggressive.”
“He is beginning to gradually flourish both mentally and physically,” Alston said. “His use of speech has increased and he’s more cognitively responsive.”
On Monday, it was reported that Odom had begun physical therapy and had been improving. This came after he reportedly started speaking and using a breathing mask instead of a breathing tube. Odom was transferred from the Las Vegas hospital to one in Los Angeles.
