Steve Smith is by no means a quitter at anything in life, but the veteran wide receiver made it clear that he’d walk away from the game immediately if the Baltimore Ravens decided to trade him.
Smith’s son recently took to Twitter, suggesting the undefeated Carolina Panthers should trade all of their wide receivers to Baltimore so his dad could come home. At 1-5, the Ravens season is essentially done, and Smith could provide a contender with a stout wide receiver.
Amid reports that the Ravens might consider trading him, Smith told the Baltimore Sun he’d quit if the Ravens traded before the November 3 deadline.
“If they would trade me, I would quit,” Smith said “I like to finish what I started.”
Smith currently leads the Ravens with 36 catches for 510 yards and three touchdowns. Responding to a report from Yahoo’s Eric Edholm, John Harbaugh stated Friday that “there is no chance of that.
"I wouldn’t part with him," he said.
