I’m not sure Lawrence Taylor is the guy you want rushing to your aid, but the Hall of Famer offered one weird explanation for all of Greg Hardy’s domestic violence issues.
Suggesting Greg Hardy may have been “screwed” by the NFL, Lawrence Taylor said Sunday the Cowboys did a good deed by providing the alleged woman-beater with an opportunity to return to the field.
“I like that. I think they needed to give him another chance because it’s not clear what happened,” Taylor said. “It’s not really 100% clear what happened. So listen, I think they need to give him a chance.
“I think he is going to make the best of that second chance because I’ll tell you what, he could have been screwed. A lot of people have been screwed in this league. But he got a do-over, and you got to do the best you can. You got to make the best you can with that do-over.”
Taylor, who made the comments before an appearance at Empire City Casino, has his own dark history involving some questionable decisions involving women. Taylor pleaded guilty to prostitution and sexual misconduct charges after a 2010 incident with an underage escort.
Taylor, sounding like a lot of Cowboys supporters, said of Hardy, “It’s all about what you do on the field. That’s it. That’s all I care about.”
