At 6-foot-5, 2 Chainz is one of the tallest guys in the rap game, but he used that height to his advantage back when he was younger. If you didn't know, the rapper had a Division 1 scholarship to play basketball at Alabama State, though he ended up leaving school to pursue his music career.
Clayton Harris, the assistant coach who recruited Tity Boi, says that he was a pretty slick basketball player during his playing days. Harris speaks on how his play reminded him of George "The Iceman" Gervin.

Harris began to track Epps progress as a player from the time he was in 11th grade at North Clayton High School (College Park, GA), and said he was impressed with his versatility as a player. Epps was adept at playing three positions: point guard, shooting guard, and small forward.
“I know you’re going to think I’m crazy, but he reminded me of George “The Iceman” Gervin with his body type and the stuff he could do on the floor,” Harris said. “He was real slick.”
