Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan have both confirmed they have entered negotiations to fight one another, likely putting to an end to Jeff Horne’s hopes of getting the Filipino in a bout in his hometown of Brisbane, Australia, in April.

According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, “The Australian deal is not going to happen now because Manny is trying to get a fight done in the United Arab Emirates. The people there favor him fighting Amir Khan.”
Bob Arum added that the fight was far from guaranteed to happen.
Khan’s last bout in May 2016 saw him suffer the fourth defeat of his career, a sixth-round knockout by Saul “Canelo” Alvarez after he had moved up two weight divisions to take on the Mexican.
