I always felt the Oakland Raiders were a year away, and after putting the NFL on notice, they just got some big news about reinforcements.
#Raiders LB Aldon Smith will be reinstated in March, sources say, barring a slip up in the drug program. His request was deferred in Dec.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 5, 2017
Smith, who had 33.5 sacks over his first two seasons before off-the-field incidents sat him down, is currently serving a year-long ban for violating the league’s policy on substances of abuse.
For Raiders fans dreaming of a Clowney/Watt combination, Smith and Khalil Mack will raise hell, while allowing the Raiders to use a draft pick on other needs.
