The Philadelphia Eagles won’t have any problems scoring touchdowns when down on the goal line, as they have signed LeGarrette Blount.
Eagles are signing former Patriots' RB LeGarrette Blount to a one-year deal, per team official. Cardinals also had some mild interest.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) May 17, 2017
Last season, at the age 30, the former New England Patriots running back led the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 18. He also had nearly 1,200 yards rushing.
The Eagles were close to entering the season without a proven NFL runner who can handle short-yardage duty. They now have one of the best in the league on their roster.
Philly will now have a full package of running backs to take pressure off quarterback Carson Wentz, including Darren Sproles and rookie Donell Pumphrey Jr.
