Who knew that NBA history could help mend the biggest beef of the 2016-17 NBA season? Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have been feuding since last summer, but according to Kendrick Perkins, the triple-double record may have healed all wounds.
While a guest on Kevin Garnett’s Area 21, Perkins revealed the reconciliation between his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, stating that they talked last month when Westbrook notched his 42nd triple-double of the season to break Oscar Robertson’s record.
“The night that Russ actually broke the record, I had text KD the next day … he sent me a text and was like, ‘Hey man, me and Russ had a nice conversation the other day.’ … They’re back on talking terms."
Perkins also believes the two could reconnect as teammates sooner than later.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if (Durant went) back to Oklahoma cause, in my opinion, I don’t think Russ is going nowhere."
