John Calipari has coached some of the best point guards in college basketball, a list that includes the likes of DaJuan Wagner, John Wall, Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Knight, and De’Aaron Fox to name a few.
Quade Green could end up being the toughest of the bunch. He’ll definitely go down as one of the greatest leaders to step foot in Lexington. The former Neuman Goretti star hopes that the toughness forged in Philadelphia will rub off on his new BBN teammates.
John Calipari seems to believe so. During a dope feature on Coachcal.com, Green talked about the lofty expectations for himself, and bringing that Philly toughness to Lexington.
“That’s where I got my toughness from. Just Philly, period,” Green said. “These guys on the basketball court, you know what’s about to happen. Either you’re going to play tough or you’re going to get kicked off the court.”
Green, an alpha dog, is already talking about being the best point guard in Wildcats history.
“That’s my main goal right now,” Green said. “That’s if I do four years, three years, two years or one year. I’m trying to be the best player I can be and better than everybody that came through here as a guard.
“They want somebody to tell them what’s right from wrong. Same as me. If I tell them right from wrong they got respect for me.”
This is shaping up to be a special two-years for the 'Cats.
