The Antetokoumpo clan is set to add another force to the NBA. Kostas Antetokounmpo, the brother of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis, will enter the 2018 NBA draft class, per a Twitter announcement:
I have made the decision to start a new chapter in my life and basketball career. I want to thank The University of Dayton, the basketball program, my teammates, the students & the community for your constant support! I’ll forever be a proud Dayton Flyer!— Kostas Antetokounmpo (@Kostas_ante13) March 22, 2018
A redshirt freshman last season, Antetokounmpo averaged 5.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-10 power forward is not ranked among the top 50 draft prospects, but ESPN.com’s Jonathan Givony reports that the Dayton freshman could return to school if he doesn’t get positive feedback from NBA teams.
Antetokounmpo was forced to sit his freshman season due to an NCAA ruling that deemed him a partial qualifier since he attended high school in Greece for two years before his family moved to Wisconsin.
Giannis is a two-time All-Star and one of the NBA’s best all-around players. The other brother, Thanasis, was a second-round pick by the New York Knicks in 2014 and is currently playing for Panathinaikos of the Euroleague.
