It doesn’t take a genius to know Brett Brown was referring to one LeBron “King” James. The Philadelphia 76ers head coach stressed the importance Friday morning of landing a big name in free agency this offseason.
According to reports, Brown made it clear that "another high-level free-agent is required" to win a championship.

Brett Brown on potential targets who might take the #sixers to the next level: "We don't have to turn this into calculus. It's quite clear."— Derek Bodner (@DerekBodnerNBA) May 11, 2018
Brett Brown: "I think another high level free-agent is required [to win a championship]. I think we have the ability to attract one." #sixers— Derek Bodner (@DerekBodnerNBA) May 11, 2018
With Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid leading the way, the Sixers returned to the playoffs this season for the first time since the 2011-12 year.
Philly has quality supporting pieces in Robert Covington, Dario Saric, and Markelle Fultz, with the former No. 1 overall pick likely being one of the biggest keys to Philly taking the next step in next year.
With that being said, adding another big piece to the fold would be huge for the Sixers’ championship aspirations.
Back in March, it was reported that the 76ers were one of the few teams on LeBron’s free-agent list along with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets.
