Call him a sophomore, redshirt or whatever else you’d like, but always make sure you refer to Ben Simmons as the Rookie of the Year as well.
Simmons was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year during the league’s annual awards show on Monday night, after averaging 15.8 points, 8.2 assists, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game during the regular season.

The Philadelphia 76ers young star also notched 12 triple-doubles, second only to Oscar Robertson for a player in his rookie season. Simmons beat out Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum for the award.
