The father-son, coach-player duo is no more for Austin and Doc Rivers. The Los Angeles Clippers are trading the guard to the Washington Wizards for center Marcin Gortat, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Rivers and Gortat are in the final year of their contracts and will become free agents next summer, clearing the way for both franchises to have cap room in the stacked NBA Free Agency summer of 2019.
The Clippers had no need for Rivers after drafting its backcourt of the future on Thursday, picking Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson.
Gortat gives the Clippers a starting center should DeAndre Jordan opt-out of his $24.7 million contract before Friday’s deadline, or decide to opt-in, allowing both parties to work out a trade.
