Is Magic Johnson comfortable giving up the bulk of his core roster to land Kawhi Leonard, and most importantly LeBron James come early Saturday night or Sunday morning?
Per reports, trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs, centering around Kawhi, are “re-engaged” for the first time since the Spurs made it clear that no deal would be done with them.
The urgency for the Lakers stems from Magic Johnson needing to land two stars, and LeBron feeling like he needs to see some action before Friday’s deadline to opt in or out.
Update from this morning’s story. The Lakers re-engaged the Spurs Wednesday in aggressively pursuing Kawhi Leonard. Story w/ @wojespn coming shortly on ESPN. This is the first contact between the teams since the Spurs “shut the door” on them after an initial call.— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) June 28, 2018
