Just because someone becomes rich, successful and popular does not mean that they necessarily stop being an ordinary person.
While we have all seen famous athletes driving some of the most exotic supercars available, many choose to drive cars you might see in your parent’s garage. Here are some of these athletes.
1. Lionel Messi
When you are one of the best soccer players in the world, you can drive just about any car you want. This is certainly true of Lionel Messi, who owns quite a few exotic and high-end cars.
But Messi also drives a Prius. The next time you hook your level 2 charger into your hybrid, picture the best footballer in the world doing the same thing.
2. David Beckham
David Beckham is a former soccer great who is married to a former Spice Girl, so he, too, can drive any car that he wants. While he is famous for driving just about every fancy car out there, he has also been seen driving around in a normal Jeep Wrangler.
3. Peyton Manning
When he played football, Peyton Manning was considered one of the greatest quarterbacks ever in the game. He also earned a massive amount of money during his famed career.
But that does not mean that he likes to spend it on fancy cars. Manning drives around town with just your average and ordinary Toyota Sequoia.
4. Carey Price
Carey Price is one of the best goalies in the National Hockey League and earns many millions of dollars every year.
But Price is also a normal guy who likes to both fish and hunt in his spare time. So, it makes sense for him not to drive some fancy import. Instead, he drives a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
5. LeBron James
LeBron James is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, and he has earned hundreds of millions of dollars during his storied career.
Not surprisingly, this has allowed him to buy and drive some of the most expensive cars in the world. But it may surprise you to know that he also drives a 1975 Chevrolet Impala.
6. Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard is the reigning 2019 NBA Finals MVP and one of the greatest basketball players in the league. But he is also famous for the fact that he drives the same car that he did in college: a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe. He has even said that he will continue to drive it for as long as it lasts.
7. Manny Pacquiao
Manny Pacquiao is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, and he is also one of the richest, having earned hundreds of millions of dollars during his long boxing career.
He could drive every expensive car there is, and he does own quite a few of them. But Pacquiao also drives an ordinary Chevrolet Suburban as well, along with a Hyundai Santa Fe.
8. Jordan Spieth
Jordan Spieth has won a lot of major golf tournaments during his short career, and he has earned quite a bit of money to go along with it. But while he does own and drive his share of expensive cars, Spieth also drives an ordinary Hyundai SUV, too.
