The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in the world, drawing in fans from the four corners of the earth.
Last year, 98.2 million people watched the Super Bowl, and that number is down from previous years. Buying a 30-second ad to air during the game carries a $5.2 million price tag, just to put things in perspective. It’s a big deal.
So where will you watch the game this year? With streaming service, a WiFi connection, and any device, you could literally watch it anywhere you want, but that’s no fun.
It’s better to watch the biggest game of the year with some friends or surrounded by a rowdy group of strangers chugging down beers and eating fattening finger food all day.
The best places to watch the Super Bowl depends on the person, of course, but here’s a few suggestions.
At Home
There’s no place like home, right? Especially when it comes to watching football. You always have a front-row seat, drinks and food are cheap, and there’s no line waiting for the toilet.
The home Super Bowl party is a time-honored tradition and easy to pull off. Invite some friends over, put out some chips and dip, stock the fridge with drinks, throw up a few decorations, and have a ball.
Screaming at the TV with some buddies is always better than sitting alone.
Your Favorite Watering Hole
Going to the local bar is always a good choice. You know there will be TVs covering every inch of the walls, tons of food, tons of drinks, and tons of people.
The atmosphere is always amazing in a bar during the big game, so you know you’ll have a good time. Just watch the tab because it can get out of control fast.
You better get there early, insanely early, to claim a table or a spot at the bar. Seating will be at a premium all day.
A Friend’s House
A friend’s house might be the best place to take in the game. Think about it: it’s the same as being at your house with no waiting and always good seating, and you don’t have to clean anything up afterward!
All you have to do is show up with a case of beer and maybe something to nosh, and you’re golden. It will be your friend’s responsibility to set everything up, cook a ton of food, and clean after the game. By the time he’s done, you’ll be home getting ready for bed.
At the Stadium
Attending the Super Bowl is very, very expensive. You’ll buy a plane ticket, hotel room, tickets to the game, rental car, parking for said car, and concessions at the game. That’s a hefty price tag to sit and watch the game.
But if you’re in it for the experience and have the dough, then by all means. There aren’t too many people who can say they went to the Super Bowl.
